Mobivox’s mobile Skype goes beta
Briefs | 05/11/2007 2:37 pm EDT
Montreal-based Mobivox Corp. has unveiled the beta version of its hosted mobile-Skype service, which brings the popular P2P VoIP program to any wireless device. According to a press release, "Skype on the Go" requires no program-download to the handset, and it provides free global calls between Mobivox users. It also offers low international rates, conference calling, and mobile-to-landline handoffs. Visit http://www.mobivox.com/ for details. Industry analysts have said VoIP's traversal into the mobile space could hurt wireless service provider revenues – particularly revenues from traditional voice-call packages.
