Live interactive game show launches on Citytv
December 21 saw the beginning of a six-week run of Play2Win, the first live interactive game show of its kind in Canada, on CHUM Ltd.’s Citytv Toronto station. Already popular in Europe, Asia and the US, Play2Win allows viewers to participate in games that are played in studio via text messaging, telephone or visiting www.citytv.com. Once entered, viewers play Scrabble-type games and are eligible to win cash prizes through live participation in the show. "Play2Win is participation TV…a first of its kind in Canada, and is yet another inventive and interactive way CHUM continues to put the power in the hands of its viewers," said Maria Hale, CHUM’s VP of content business development, in news release. The show airs on Thursdays at 1:05 a.m., Fridays at 3:00 a.m., Saturdays at midnight and Sundays at 2:00 p.m.
