With this edition, Canadian NEW MEDIA begins anew. We've increased our publishing frequency, enhanced our look, and improved the editorial section. The closure of Evert Communications Ltd in January led to the suspension of this publication and its affiliated newsletters. Canadian NEW MEDIA, Network Letter, Canadian Communications Reports and Report on Wireless are looking forward to a promising future with their new owner, Decima Publishing Inc (formerly OSI Technology Publishing), and a subsidiary of OSI Group Inc. The other shareholders of Decima Publishing are Gerry Wall, president of Wall Communications Inc, and Debbie Lawes, managing editor and associate publisher of Decima Publishing. You will notice that we've made design changes to each of our newsletters, introducing a more standardized layout and publishing schedule. All of our newsletters will now be published 24 times a year, with online updates available on alternate weeks for our electronic subscribers. These updates will provide the latest information and insider news, with hot links to relevant and often hard-to-find documents. (Paper copies of Canadian NEW MEDIA are now available). The past year of Canadian NEW MEDIA, and up to five years of our other newsletters, are available on our Web site for our online readers. This space will feature our "NEWSMAKERS" column. Recognized authorities from business, government, media, academia and public interest organizations will be invited to submit opinion pieces that contribute to a dynamic discussion of current issues. This page will also feature interviews with leading professionals from the new media sector who are helping to shape this changing industry. Canadian NEW also looks forward to working with its affiliate company, Decima Research Inc, on nationwide polls specifically tailored to the interests of our readers. pages 1 and 7 of the current issue feature the results of our first poll, which asked what Internet users think of their current service providers. The results of future polls will be published in our newsletters first, in advance of the mainstream media. Canadian NEW MEDIA is committed to providing the best coverage of the Canadian digital media industry. We look forward to renewing our association with our previous subscribers and hope to establish connections with new readers.
