In concert with the acquisition of Wenfin.com Inc, Netgraphe Inc has announced that Gilles Lajoie will become its editor. Former managing editor of the French-language magazine L'Actualité, Lajoie possesses a long and distinguished career in the media industry. He was also director of the news section for the Les Affaires and managing editor for Commerce, two of Quebec's major business publications. Ted Boyle has been named president and CEO at Inetcable.com of Ottawa. A veteran of the cable and satellite television industries, Boyle brings a wealth of broadcasting experience to the emerging Internet broadcaster. Boyle played a significant role in the launch of new services in the cable, direct-to-home satellite and wireless cable businesses. Previously, he was president and CEO at Bell ExpressVu and was instrumental in bringing MMDS service to South Asia. CanWest Global Communications has promoted from within to install Gerry Noble as president and CEO of its Canadian media operations. Noble replaces Jim Sward who is leaving after seven years in the position to pursue other undisclosed interests. Noble is a CanWest veteran who has overseen CanWest's business growth and corporate development throughout the South Pacific. He has held several senior executive positions since joining the company in 1985. In 1992, he moved to New Zealand where he led the financial turnaround of TV3. From 1993 to 1996, he was managing director and CEO of the network. Andre de Fusco has joined the board of directors at Proskim Software Inc, Montreal. Fusco is currently president and CEO at ACT Networks and is a proven telecommunications and networking executive. He will provide much wanted experience to the company as it moves to expand the use of its patent pending technology into other markets. Fusco has held several senior level positions during his career including VP and GM at the Broadband Network Services subsidiary of ACT. Prior to joining to ACT, he was director of international accounts and business development at Northern Telecom Ltd (Nortel Networks Corp). Michael McKelvie has been appointed senior VP marketing and communications at Video Headquarters Inc, Calgary. Prior to this appointment, McKelvie was senior marketing manager and communications manager at Blockbuster Canada Co. He was also director sales and marketing for Universal Studios Home Video Canada Ltd. McKelvie will also take on the same position for the company's subsidiary E-Trend Networks Inc which has offices in Calgary, Marina Del Rey CA and Fort Lauderdale FL. Decima Publishing welcomes journalist Jeff Leiper back to its ranks. Leiper is taking on new duties as editor of Canadian NEW MEDIA and editor of Online Services after having served from October 1998 to January 2000 as editor of affiliate publication Report on Wireless. Prior to serving the publications' former ownership in that capacity, Leiper was a reporter for Silicon Valley North. Mark Bourrie, who served as the interim editor of Canadian NEW MEDIA, continues as editor of Canadian Communications Reports.
