Analysts are guardedly applauding a deal between BCE Inc and Thomson Corp that sees the assets of Canada’s oldest national newspaper thrown into a multimedia pot with Sympatico.ca and CTV Inc. The move is the clearest signal yet that convergence is being taken seriously by previously conservative telcos, broadcasters and publishers.
