Montreal launches ICT Cluster
Brief | April 16, 2007
The City of Montreal is now home to the new Information and Communications Technology Cluster of Greater Montreal (TechnoMontréal), an initiative launched by Montréal International the city economic development agency. The goal of the cluster is to help strengthen the position of Montreal as a world-class centre of ICT. TechnoMontréal will work with stakeholders in the scientific and university communities to develop strategies to promote the sector and its successes. "This initiative is the result of a major mobilization of business people, teaching institutions, associations and the public sector," TechnoMontréal chair of the board Michel Guay said in a news release. "The cluster will support companies in the ICT sector, as they increase their ability to innovate and be competitive, and will strengthen the position of Greater Montreal among the world leaders in this field."
