Thorne-Stone readies to take up reins at OMDC
People | July 5, 2007
The Ontario Media Development Corp.'s incoming president and CEO will have a busy start to her tenure. The appointment of Karen Thorne-Stone, to fill the vacancy left by retirement of Michel Frappier, was announced last month. Before taking the job with OMDC, Thorne-Stone had served as City of Toronto Film Commissioner since February 2006. Before that, she spent more than a decade in other roles with the city, including as Acting Executive Director of Economic Development. She was also an active player in the Mayor's Film Board. In the corporation's top spot, she'll be busy with two deadlines for the Entertainment and Creative Cluster Partnerships Fund coming in August.
