Bell and Look’s legal tussle takes another step

Bell Canada has filed its statement of defence and counterclaim against Look Communications – another step in their ongoing legal battle. Look filed a statement of claim against Bell on April 27, seeking damages of $25 million for breach of contract, misrepresentation and unlawful interference economic relations. Look is also asking for $10 million in punitive damaged. In Bell's reply, the company is seeking damages of $2.3 million and $1 million in punitive damages. On May 8, Look filed an injunction against Bell preventing it from terminating or restricting in any way telecommunications services provided to Look by Bell. A hearing on this matter has been set for July 23.
