In-Stat: User control will dominate video entertainment landscape
Brief | October 15, 2007
Technology research firm In-Stat is reporting that the redistribution of control of video entertainment to consumers will likely dominate the overall landscape in years to come. A recent In-Stat survey for the report Internet TV Market Strategic Analysis found that: online video will continue to become more mainstream; social networking aspects are starting to play an important part in how the newer generation wants to watch and interact with TV; and primary detractors for online video continue to be download speed, user interface, cost, and quality of video. The firm also reports that just like music downloading, these shifts appear to be far more entrenched than a simple fad, and are not exclusive to the under 25 crowd.
