Microsoft unveils new UC platform

Earlier this week, Microsoft Corp. released version two of its Office Communications Service (OCS) 2007 (R2), which combines email, instant messaging, conferencing and telephony onto a single, unified platform. R2 is currently in private beta testing, but will be available for commercial release in February 2009.
