‘Worrying’ trend of data breaches ‘must stop’: NDP

In a statement on Tuesday, the same day that BCE Inc. reported a breach affecting up to 100,000 customers, the New Democratic Party’s (NDP) Public Safety Critic Matthew Dubé said that expecting companies to inform people of data breaches without being required by law was “not a good plan.”
