Rural, remote communities training local workers to help bridge digital divide

Since it first helped a community in Hawaii develop its own network following one of its yearly summits several years ago, the Indigenous Connectivity Institute (ICI) has been putting on bootcamps and workshops in Indigenous communities as part of its efforts to bridge the digital divide.

A group looking to make it easier to find local workers when building broadband network infrastructure in rural and remote areas of Canada is aiming to do so by training Indigenous communities to grow their own workforces.
