Bell acquires U.S. telecom; Eastlink buys in Northern Ontario

BCE Inc. has moved into the Pacific Northwest of the United States with the purchase of Ziply Fiber of Kirkland, Washington. Bell will pay C$5 billion and assume a further C$2 billion of Ziply’s debt. The American firm has operations in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana.
