The Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television (ACCT) will hold a news conference to announce details of its film, television and digital media awards. The awards will be broadcast on CBC on March 3, 2013. Representatives of the ACCT, Helga Stephenson, CEO and Martin Katz, chair, will unveil the new awards design, logo, the name of the Academy's new awards and the awards ceremony host. Watchdog group the Friends of Canadian Broadcasting is inviting Vancouver residents to a town hall meeting to weigh in on the future of CBC/Radio-Canada. The meeting will take place at the Visitor Centre of the Van Dusen Gardens and will be moderated by Arthur Black, a Saltspring Island writer, broadcaster and former host of CBC Radio's Basic Black.
